An Update On Things

Aug 21 - 2010Posted by Mehar

Its been a while since I've blogged about anything last. I left for Winnipeg last Saturday and got back home Wednesday night. We went for a family event that a long time friend of my dads was holding. Winnipeg was great, I was able to take a few sights and meet some fantastic people in the process.

Project Galaxy seems to be back on, I sent a proposal to a game publisher asking if they would be interested Thursday night. We haven't heard back from them yet but are still holding out hope for good news.

OneCMS 2.6.4 is going along has planned, I've learned a lot since the release of 2.6 and have taken into consideration criticism of the CMS. The upcoming release will hopefully deal with these issues to a certain extent and allow for them to gradually fix themselves overtime.

I'm also looking into options to make OneCMS more easier to adapt into a non game related site. That way the appeal could broaden and we can see more elaborate implementations of the CMS.

Speaking of which, GameCMS has also made a come back. It's fantastic to see more and more game oriented CMS's on the forefront once again. I wish the team great success with their upcoming release!

TGS hasn't been doing too bad either, I don't post as much as I used to since most of my time recently has been taken up by working on the CMS that powers the site. Adding new features, fixing bugs, etc becomes very time consuming. A lot of the features I've implemented recently work on the back end, just not so much on the front end! If things go well I should have most if not all of the changes/bugs fixed with the TGS CMS, this will allow us to put all of our resources behind future growth for the site as a whole.

I found a rare Canadian Victory nickel in my change a few days ago, it was minted in 1945, the series itself was to bolster support on the Canadian homefront for World War II. This is a fantastic find for me, I will be posting pictures and maybe a video on it soon. The coin is definitely showing its age though so I am doing my best to keep it preserved.
